Post-9/11 GI Bill And Other Programs
The Village of Hanover Park has constructed a monument to the Veterans of our Country. It is located in the front plaza at Village Hall and is a place that residents and non-residents can remember loved ones who have served our country in the nation's different service branches.
The Veterans Committee has an Honor Roll Plaque hanging up at Village Hall to honor those who have honorably served our country.
The Veterans Committee is collecting donations for Operation Airlift. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby of Village Hall located at 2121 West Lake Street.
Items needed include food and food products such as chewing gum, cookies (boxed or individual), hard candy, beef or turkey jerky, peanut butter in small plastic jars, peanut butter or cheese crackers, individual packets of peanuts, pop-top fruit (small cans), soups (Maruchan in cups, dry), trail mixed/granola bars, and variety pack cereal.
Also needed are personal/paper products such as bath towels (dark colors), batteries, chapsticks, envelopes, eye drops, games, hand sanitizer (packets or plastic bottles, no pump type), Kleenex tissue (small pocket size), pens/pencils, Q-Tips/cotton swabs, shaving cream (gel, no aerosol cans), small shampoo, vaseline, and writing tablets.
Please note all items should be plastic, as nothing can be shipped in glass containers.

We are an advocacy group that works to spread awareness of asbestos-related diseases and help those currently suffering from them. Here are some things we offer veterans that set us apart from other advocacy sites: • Free VA Claims assistance to veterans exposed to asbestos. • A monthly online support group where we discuss a variety of topics pertaining to cancer patients. • An on-staff doctor and nurse available to answer any medical-related questions. • Patient Advocates that work 1-on-1 with individuals to help them find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups.
